RUFSKIN is currently celebrating 22 years since the brand was born in a small garage in South Park, San Diego, California.
Since 2002, RUFSKIN has become more of a lifestyle for its wearers, rather than just another pair of jeans. The Southern California-based brand, which also includes underwear, swimwear, sportswear, leisurewear, and accessories, was created to enhance the individuality and freedom of the body, while at the same time, helped redefine the concept of what sexy can look like. The concept of the brand focuses on the California Lifestyle. RUFSKIN often uses the California desert as their location background for ad campaigns in addition to their pet project, RUFHOUSE, an e-magazine featuring photographic essays from current collections and locations.
RUFSKIN's production practice lowers their carbon footprint by designing and manufacturing everything locally in Southern California.

Douglas und Hubert trafen sich in Paris, Frankreich, während sie im Modegeschäft tätig waren. Bald darauf hatten sie ein Auge auf die USA geworfen und fanden später in Kalifornien ihre Heimat. Mit Einflüssen des rauen Westens und den Stränden Brasiliens wurde RUFSKIN geboren, um die damalige Lücke in den Möglichkeiten für sexy Herrenjeans mit niedriger Taille zu füllen. Der Name RUFSKIN kommt von Casca-Grossa, einem brasilianischen Jiu-Jitsu-Begriff, der "harte Haut" bedeutet.

Having the freedom to harness their creativity as their own clients is both rewarding and fun. Photographing their own ad campaigns and online product images is their “escape” from their daily lives. Both gents have always had attachment to the fashion business in some form or another; from previous jobs as a model, talent scouting and photography; these have all influenced their drive to create original photos that are sexy and inviting.
